The Spiritual Power of Shiv Naam Chanting
"Pure white like camphor, the very embodiment of compassion, the essence of existence, wearing the king of serpents as a garland—I bow to Lord Shiva, who dwells eternally in the lotus of the heart."
In Shaiva traditions, Lord Shiva represents the transcendent silent consciousness (Turiya) beyond birth, change, and destruction. Chanting Shiv Naam quiets the restless fluctuations of the intellect and brings the seeker into meditative stillness.
Rudraksha Beads and Pradosham Timing
Shiva Japa is traditionally practiced using Rudraksha beads, which are sacred tears of Shiva in Puranic lore. Chanting during the Pradosha period (the twilight hour preceding nightfall, especially on Trayodashi tithis and Mondays) is deeply revered.
