The Rigvedic Verse of Markandeya Rishi

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥
Oṃ Tryambakaṃ Yajāmahe Sugandhiṃ Puṣṭi-Vardhanam | Urvārukam-Iva Bandhanān Mṛtyor-Mukṣīya Māmṛtāt ||
"We worship the Three-Eyed Lord (Shiva), fragrant and nourishing all beings. As a ripe cucumber effortlessly detaches from its vine, may we be liberated from the bondage of mortality into the nectar of immortality."

Also termed the Mrita-Sanjeevani Mantra, this verse from the Rigveda (Mandala 7, Sukta 59) is traditionally invoked for inner vitality, spiritual courage, and freedom from the existential fear of death.

🌿 Spiritual Context Notice

Chanting the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is an ancient Vedic spiritual sadhana and prayer for well-being. It is practiced for devotional peace and mental fortitude, and is not a substitute for qualified medical care.
